A Single Hair

There is a single hair,

A single hair

Poking through my sock.

The cotton moved so gently,

And the hair slipped right through.

And in a pin sized hole,

A single hair,

A single hair,

Has poked through my sock.

This happens sometimes

Every now and then,

But never that just

a single hair,

Just a single hair,

Pokes through my sock.

I wonder how long it'll stay,

If it'll slip right back out.

Would I be sad when it's gone?

Will I try to bring it back?

Bring back the single hair,

The single hair,

That is poking through my sock.

I wonder about the hair,

How long it's been there,

How long it'll stay.

I wonder about the single hair,

The single hair,

Poking through my sock.
